COVID-19 update: Kaiser Permanente PPE Clarification, April 16, 2020

Kaiser Permanente has issued a clarification on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This is an important start. At UNAC/UHCP we believe that anyone caring for PUI/COVID-19 patients should be wearing an N95 mask, period. Policy should not be based on the number, or the acuity, of patients.

UNAC/UHCP will continue to push for an N95 mask in all areas where screening and COVID positive patients are housed. We stand by our call for PPE transparency, in our efforts to protect our members, keep people working, and keep our patients and families safe.
