COVID-19 update: Kaiser Permanente Employee Benefit Reinstatement, July 9, 2020

Kaiser Permanente has reinstated the enhanced leave benefit for COVID-19 positive employees, retroactive to June 14, 2020. The benefit, which will run until September 30, 2020, will provide up to 80 hours of COVID-19 positive leave for employees who are required to report to work at a KP facility (i.e. RNs, EVS workers, receptionists, pharmacy workers, etc.) or directed to care for patients in person at a non-KP facility.

Thank you to our labor partners, the Alliance of Health Care Unions, for pressing the employer to make this move. We are including a memo circulated by KP. We are getting additional information and will post as soon as possible.

NOTE: If you need to be reimbursed for hours, there will be a process with Kaiser Permanente HR to do that.
