Make a Difference on Key Issues
On August 25 we reached a tentative agreement on Retiree Medical Benefits which requires that retired members be notified of their medical plan options prior to the expiration of COBRA and Cal-COBRA.
Despite much discussion, fundamental differences remain on these issues:
- Rest and Meal Periods
- Right to grieve and arbitrate if bargaining unit work is performed by non-bargaining unit staff
- Right to take a grievance to arbitration in disputes on job bidding and selection
- Use of Paid Time Off (PTO) for cancelations
- Administrative Leave
- Recognition of the Union as the sole bargaining agent for wages, benefits and working conditions
