The September 29th FVPA General Membership Meeting was a great success, drawing a significant number of employees who gathered between two open sessions to voice concerns. Together members discussed contract language regarding layoffs, staffing, flexing, breaks and meal periods. Nearly every department had representatives, including a great showing from Education, GI Lab, ICU, Tele, and the CLS. UNAC/UHCP Members Are Eligible for the TENET Wellness Program
November 8 – 10, 2010 was the annual open enrollment for employee health benefits. Several meetings were held explaining the TENET Health Benefit Plans for 2011. The union received multiple calls from concerned members regarding the presentation and statements made by FVRHMC at the said meetings.

Fountain Valley Professional Association (FVPA) members voted on April 20, 2010 to ratify a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The new contract, retroactive to February 2, provides for annual wage increases, an increase in on-call pay, an additional holiday, restoration of the hospital’s extended sick leave program, and other improvements. A record number of FVPA members participated in the full day of voting.

Fountain Valley Negotiations Continue – Mar/Apr’10 Voice
Contract negotiations between the Fountain Valley Professional Association (FVPA) and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital continue as of the printing of this issue of the Voice. Despite a lot of hard work from both sides, no new agreement was reached before the contract’s February 1 expiration date. Union in Brief – Jan/Feb’10 Voice
FVPA – Fountain Valley Professional Association contract negotiations began in mid-December, with the FVPA negotiating team exchanging a number of proposals with hospital management. FVPA Negotiations Kickoff – October 6, 2009
Over 200 Fountain Valley Professional Association (FVPA) members of the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) participated in the successful kickoff to their new contract negotiations cycle at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center. Members had the opportunity to speak with FVPA affiliate officers and UNAC/UHCP state officers and department directors about their issues of interest and became more acquainted with the union.
