What is a Steward?

Stewards are health care professionals, trained to understand the contract and the rights of his or her colleagues. The steward is trained to successfully organize collective actions, to enforce the contract, and to represent and counsel healthcare professionals facing discipline.

Stewards are essential: they are leaders that represent the union on the job. Our goal is to have a steward on every shift and every floor. A strong network of stewards will make our union powerful.

Become a Steward!

All health care professionals deserve well-informed and confident representation. You will complete a training program before you are asked to be the representative in a disciplinary meeting. We offer training sessions and additional classes throughout the year.

You must register before the deadline to attend this training. Walk-ins will not be admitted.
