Governor Jerry Brown announced late Tuesday he signed Senate Bill 98, the legislation reconstituting the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). The entire board will be reappointed under the new bill.

Hundreds of Uniformed Flight Attendants are Joined by Allies at LAX Protest

Flight attendants from over 20 airlines held protests on February 6 at LAX to protest attacks on collective bargaining rights in the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill, which has passed both Houses of Congress and is waiting for a signature from President Obama. Several LA unions and many other LAX workers joined in the protests on Monday in solidarity with the flight attendant and their cause.

Montebello Firefighters Join Beverly Nurses Fight for Quality Care

Montebello’s first responders have been closely watching the Nurses’ negotiations with the hospital because they bring patients to the ER on a daily basis. The firefighters join the growing list of community leaders calling on the Beverly Hospital administration and Board of Directors to settle a contract with the Nurses and invest in patient care.

El Monte Mayor and Community Leaders Call on Beverly Hospital to Partner With Nurses

El Monte Mayor Andre Quintero led a delegation of concerned El Monte residents to Beverly Hospital today to speak to CEO Gary Kiff. Mayor Quintero delivered the message that partnership with the nurses union can only strengthen the health of the hospital, speaking from his experience serving on the board of a San Gabriel Valley Hospital.
